Nissan is to recruit 800 additional staff and implement a third production shift at its manufacturing plant in Sunderland, Englan, in response to a record production year at the Sunderland plant. Continuing high demand and a record production year for the new Nissan Qashqai crossover.
Last year the Sunderland plant achieved a record annual production volume of 353,000 units of qashqai, Note, Micra and Micra C+C With orders still above forecast and a customer bank of 60,000 units, the plant is recruiting 400 permanent and 400 temporary staff. In addition, all current temporary staff will be offered permanent positions. Great news for the people of Sunderland.
